Norwich Citadel Band Visit to Leicester

A leisurely drive by car on Saturday, 29 October 2016, took members of the Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Woodrow) to Wigston, Leicester where they were welcomed at Leicester South Corps for a ministry weekend consisting of a Saturday evening concert, worship services on Sunday morning, and a second musical meeting on Sunday afternoon.  Read more

National Capital Band in Northern Virginia

The National Capital Band (Bandmaster Dr. Steve Kellner) has a long-standing relationship with the Northern Virginia Adult Rehabilitation Center (NOVARC), beginning with the dedication of the facility over twenty years ago. In lieu of their regular rehearsal on Monday, 7 November 2016, the band gave a concert at the center.  Read more

Clydebank Anniversary Weekend

Clydebank Corps held celebrations of its 123rd anniversary on the weekend of 29 – 30 October 2016. The weekend featured a Saturday musical festival from Bellshill Band (Bandmaster Yvonne Ferguson) and Sunday meetings around the themes “Clydebank – Proud Past”, “Army of the Present”, and “Challenge of the Future”.  Read more

Staff Band in Den Helder

On the weekend of 29 – 30 October 2016, the Amsterdam Staff Band (Bandmaster Olaf J. Ritman) visited the Den Helder Corps for the corps’ 125th anniversary celebrations. This weekend had been planned for some time. Every possible effort was used to make it a success, and this resulted in a fantastic weekend with many highlights, not only for the corps, but for the Staff Band as well.  Read more

USA Central Territorial Singing Company Festival

The USA Central Territorial Music and Gospel Arts Department has announced the Territorial Singing Company Festival 2017. The goal of the Festival is to maximize, improve, and sustain corps participation and the quality of singing companies in each of the territory’s ten divisions, in support of the Live Music by 2020 initiative. Each division is planning a Divisional Music Day where singing companies will be evaluated, with those judged as Exemplary invited to form part of a United Singing Company for the 2017 Family Congress.  Read more

On 22 October 2016, the night after a successful concert at Hayling Island, the Solent Fellowship Band held a dinner in celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary. Saturday, 22 October 2016, marked the arrival of Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Howard J. Evans) at Norwich Citadel for the 134th anniversary celebration weekend of Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Woodrow). This was a return visit, as the Norwich band had enjoyed a weekend in Bournemouth the previous year.  Read more

Brilliant autumn sunshine greeted Salvationists and friends as they traveled from across South Wales and gathered in Tenby on 22 October 2016 to celebrate 130 years of the work of the Salvation Army in that town. Morriston Citadel Songsters (Songster Leader Chris Lear) and South and Mid Wales Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Adrian Browning) provided musical support for the day.  Read more

MSB Mourns Griffin

The Melbourne Staff Band (Bandmaster Ken Waterworth) salutes the life of Staff Band Reservist Laurie Griffin, who passed away on 22 October 2016. Griffin was a member of the Staff Band for 21 years, transferring to the reserve in 2000. For most of his time in the Staff Band he served as the Band Sergeant.  Read more
