Yasuaki Fukuhara (Percussion) with Leyland Band
Yasuaki Fukuhara was born in Japan and started playing percussion when he was fifteen years old. He gained a psychology degree from Nihon University before studying percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he graduated in June 2014.
Interested in expanding the repertoire for solo percussion with brass band accompaniment, he commissioned works such as Battlefield and Marimba Concerto (David Danford), Anthracite Dances (James McFadyen) and The Golden Apples of the Sun (Rodney Newton), all of which receive their premiere recordings on this album.
