On 1 November 2012, the Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) exchanged its weekly rehearsal for a concert organized by friend of the band Alister du Plessis, in aid of the Leprosy Mission.
Each autumn, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) gives a Sunday evening concert at Portsmouth Citadel in appreciation of the corps allowing the use of the main hall and other facilities for rehearsals and the occasional social event.
The evening of 27 October was unbelievably wet and cold, nevertheless, for those who braved the elements and ventured to the Bishops Stortford Methodist Church for a concert by the London Central Fellowship Band (Bandmaster David Daws), there was warmth and encouragement in abundance.
The South London Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Major George Whittingham) made its sixth visit to Gravesend on 27 October 2012, with a benefit concert to raise funds to install a security camera system to deter abuse of the outside of the hall.
The Chicago Staff Band (Bandmaster William Himes) traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, 20 October 2012 for their first away weekend of the 2012-2013 season. The Staff Band took part in a divisional music day, played a concert on Saturday evening and participated in two worship services on Sunday.
For the 66th consecutive year, the Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Jonathan Corry) presented a Pre-Contest Festival. Held on 19 October 2012, at St. John’s, Smith Square, London, the concert featured guest soloist David Childs.
On Friday, 19 October 2012, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) held its second Bells and Brass concert at the Priory Church of St. Marys, Hayling Island.
To kick off its 2012 – 2013 season, the Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster John Lam) visited Red Deer, Alberta on the weekend of 13 – 14 October 2012. The occasion was the 100th anniversary of the Red Deer corps.
