On Christmas Day, the BBC Radio show Sounds of Brass, hosted by Phillip Hunt, will feature “Music with a Message” from the International Staff Band (Bandmaster Dr. Stephen Cobb). The program will include items from the ISB’s latest Christmas recording, Celebrate the Season! and will also feature a personal message for the listeners from the Staff Bandmaster.

NYSB Weekend in Pennsylvania
On the weekend of 18 – 20 November 2016, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) found itself on the road once again, this time traveling to various parts of Pennsylvania. The weekend comprised a Friday evening concert in Wellsboro and Saturday and Sunday events in Williamsport, including a joint concert with Billtown Brass Band (Director Richard Coulter).

Enfield Remembrance
Enfield Citadel Band was busy over the Remembrance weekend, some of its members more so than others. Songster Leader Andrew Lofthouse participated in the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall as part of his duty with the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. Young People’s Band Leader Simon Hicks was involved in the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph in London with the band of the Coldstream Guards.
Three Remembrance Observances for Coventry City
Many Salvation Army bands take part in local Remembrance Day observances every year. This year, members of the musical forces of Coventry City Corps participated in three separate observances.

Another Ten Tunes in the 2-Part Hymn Series
Another ten tunes have been released in the Brass Crest Two-Part Hymn Series. These are simple two-part arrangements that are free to download (in PDF format) and use. This brings the total number of tunes in the series to seventy.
Amsterdam Staff Band and Songsters Autumn Concert
The Amsterdam Staff Band and Songsters joined for their first Autumn Concert on 12 November 2016. The concert featured guest cornet soloist Thomas Fountain. During the concert, flügelhorn legend Menno van der Woude was honored on his retirement from the Staff Band.
Heritage Brass Anniversary Concert
A packed house attended the annual Anniversary Concert of Heritage Brass (Bandmaster Bob Gray), on 30 October 2016 at Oshawa Temple. The special guest for the evening was vocalist Bobby Irvine, a Salvationist from Ayr, Scotland.
