NYSB Conductor and Personnel Changes

Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris (New York Staff Band) at an event marking his retirement after 24 years with the baton.

At the beginning of the 2016-2017 season, the New York Staff Band welcomes a new Bandmaster for the first time in nearly a quarter-century as Ronald Waiksnoris retires and Derek Lance takes up the baton. A number of player changes have also occurred as the season begins.  Read more

1966 and All That

On 16 July 2016, Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Woodrow) took part in “1966 and all that”, a special occasion marking 50 years since the band performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Joining Norwich Citadel for the celebratory concert were Diss Band (Bandmaster Iain Sturgeon) and Norfolk Fellowship Brass (Bandmaster David Woodrow).  Read more

The Enfield Citadel Band announced on 6 September 2016 that its Bandmaster, Dr. Jonathan Corry, has relinquished his leadership of the band and will be taking up an appointment as Director of Music and Gospel Arts for the Chicago Metropolitan Division in the USA Central Territory. No successor was immediately named for the conductor’s post at Enfield.  Read more

London Citadel Band Personnel Changes

As always, the London Citadel Band (Bandmaster John Lam) enjoyed an influx of new talent in the fall as students arrive at Western University for post-secondary studies. In addition, some former members have returned to again take up their seats in the ensemble.  Read more

Teens and young adults gathered over ten days in August 2016 at Camp Wonderland (Wisconsin) for Central Music Institute 2016 (CMI). Under the new leadership of Dr. Harold Burgmayer, the camp saw new and exciting changes that proved that CMI is still “the place to be”.  Read more

Farewells from the Canadian Staff Band
