Farr Featured at 2016 Pre-Contest Festival
For the 70th time, Enfield Citadel Band presented a Pre-Contest Festival before the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain. This year’s concert was held at St. Pancras Church. The guest soloist was tenor horn virtuoso Owen Farr. The band was conducted by Iain Parkhouse of Croydon Citadel, who graciously stepped in after the recent departure of former bandmaster Jonathan Corry for a new appointment in the United States.
Heritage Brass at Calvary Baptist Church
During the first week of October, Heritage Brass (Bandmaster Bob Gray) provided a light program of music for a seniors program at Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa. The concert featured melodies and marches, along with several solo items.

Fáilte Salvation Army
Fáilte is the Irish word for “welcome”. This music was commissioned by Bandmaster John Moore of Belfast Citadel, and was written to commemorate the commencement of the Salvation Army’s work in Ireland.
Regent Hall Expressions 2016
Expressions is an annual concert held at Regent Hall Corps in central London. It heralds the start of the Brass Arts Festival. The brainchild of Bandmaster Steve Hanover, the event is now in its 14th year. Participants this year included Sue Blyth, her daugther Abigail Johnson, vocal group Four Hymn, Regent Hall Band (Bandmaster Steve Hanover), Regent Hall Songsters (Songster Leader Mark Walton), and the Belfast Temple Summer School Timbrels.
Heritage Brass at Lakeshore
Heritage Brass (Bandmaster Bob Gray) made a return visit to Lakeshore Corps, Etobicoke, in September 2016, for a Sunday evening concert.

The Southern Territorial Band (Bandmaster Nick Simmons-Smith) (STB) and Territorial Creative Arts Ensemble (Director Bethany Farrell) (TCAE) toured the National Capital and Virginia (NCV) Division, Wednesday 12 – Saturday 16 October 2016, with the featured event the Music Councils, entitled “Highest Praise”, held at Camp Happyland. Because of the length of this report, it is being presented in two parts.
