On Sunday afternoon, 2 October 2016, the National Capital Area Command (NCAC) held a Soldier’s Rally at the Alexandria Citadel Corps. A wide variety of music and creative arts groups from around the area were featured, anchored by the National Capital Band (Bandmaster Dr. Steve Kellner). The theme of the rally was “Steadily Forward March!”, with the program being divided into sections focusing on the past, present, and future of the Salvation Army.  Read more

Enfield Citadel Band opened their 2016/2017 season on 1 October 2016 with a concert in the beautiful setting of Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford. The band was under the guest leadership of Bandmaster Iain Parkhouse of the Croydon Citadel Band. The band was also pleased to have Derick Kane sitting in because of the absence of their usual principal euphonium.  Read more

Ministry Weekend in Beverwijk

On the weekend of 24 – 25 September 2016, the Amsterdam Staff Band (Bandmaster Olaf Ritman) were the guests of the Kennemerland Corps in Beverwijk, not far from Amsterdam. For quite a long time, the corps was looking forward to have the Staff Band as its guest and to attract people to the Army through the sound of the band. The weekend was more or less managed by former Staff Band cornetist Hedzer van der Giezen, an avid Salvationist and keen brass lover.  Read more
