The [bclink id=”938″ target=”_blank”] (Bandmaster Kevin Hayward) announced on 30 March 2005 that their Executive Officer, Lt.-Colonel Merv Leach, would be stepping aside because of health issues. Leach will not accompany the band on their Western Canada tour in June.
To fill the vacancy, Lt.-Colonel (retired) William Wilson has been appointed as Executive Officer pro tem. Wilson hails from Scotland and at one time was a member of the Hendon Band in the United Kingdom. He has had a long career as a Salvation Army officer in the Canada and Bermuda Territory and is known as a strong supporter of music programs.
