During the first week of October, [bclink id=”1001″ target=”_blank”] (Bandmaster Bob Gray) provided a light program of music for a seniors program at Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa.

This was the first visit to the church for the band. It was good to meet with several people who were former Salvationist musicians. Public notice was made of how much everyone enjoyed the melodies and marches the band played, including many well-known hymns and Christian songs.
Several of the band’s soloists were featured. Deryck Diffey played the cornet solo I Surrender All. The euphonium solo Love Lifted Me was offered by Gary Dean. Diffey, Keith Bond, and Cliff Cummings joined together for the cornet trio The Veterans. The band’s Executive Officer, Lt.-Colonel Alf Richardson, provided a brief devotional.
Following the concert, the band enjoyed a light lunch provided by the church.
