
Quintessence, a recording of music by Robert Redhead, has been nominated for the prestigious “Band CD of the Year” award by Brass Band World magazine. [bclink id=”1877″ target=”_blank”], directed by John Ward, performed tracks which are a representation of this Salvationist composer’s output.
The tracks include:
- A Fanfare of Praise
- Isaiah 40 (Commissioned for the 1996 National Brass Band Championships
- I Will Follow Thee (Conducted by the composer)
- Tenore, featuring Owen Farr, tenor horn
- Picton Citadel
- Quintessence
- How Charming Is Thy Name
- Corpus Christi
Tenore was newly commissioned for the recording specifically for guest soloist Owen Farr.
This nomination is the latest endorsement for a recording which has been critically acclaimed by The Salvationist, British Bandsman, Brass Herald, and by the composer himself, who was present throughout the entire recording weekend.
