The Melbourne Staff Band (Bandmaster Ken Waterworth) salutes the life of Staff Band Reservist Laurie Griffin, who passed away on 22 October 2016. Griffin was a member of the Staff Band for 21 years, transferring to the reserve in 2000. For most of his time in the Staff Band he served as the Band Sergeant.

After his retirement from the band Griffin was called “off the bench” several times to help the band out. The latest was in 2011 when he joined the band on its tour of the United Kingdom, which included the ISB120 celebrations.

The Staff Band remembers Griffin as a person who was a great encourager and lived out his Christian faith. His family, wife Yvonne, daughters Kylie, Lisa, Kimberly, and Vanessa, and their families, are remembered and assured of prayers at this time.
