Salvo Brass New Season and Personnel Updates

Salvo Brass (Musical Director John Broadhurst) met for its first rehearsal of the season on 7 September 2018. The band is looking forward to an exciting season with a full diary of engagements.

One of the featured items in the band’s calendar is its annual appearance at the Saddleworth Whit Friday Marches. In 2017, the band was awarded “Best Non-Championship Band” following their performance at Delph, marking the second time the band has won this award.

On the personnel side, the band reports only a few changes. The band is sorry to say “good-bye” to Giles Coultas (soprano) after many years service, but is pleased to welcome Sam McCoy as his replacement. Brendan Rayner is rejoining the band on percussion, bringing his wealth of talent and experience, along with Max Rogers on B♭ bass.

John Broadhurst (Musical Director), assisted by Gary Rose, continues to lead the band. Diary dates for the 2018 – 2019 season can be found here.
