The Canadian Staff Band has regretfully announced that Stuart Cornie has been forced to relinquish his duties and step out of the band because of ongoing health concerns. Cornie joined the Staff Band in 2006, and helped the band in several ways, notably with creative media presentations that enhanced the ministry of the Staff Band. His keen eye for detail and creative genius, together with a musical background as a long-time Salvationist bandsman and corps bandmaster, made him ideally suited for this important role.
Cornie traveled with the Staff Band to Southern California in December 2006 and to Winnipeg in June 2007 for the Canada and Bermuda Territory’s Celebration 125 weekend. His photographs of these events helped to document these two highlights of the Staff Band’s ministry during the past two seasons. His fellow bandsmen wish him well as he continues his involvement at Yorkminster Citadel in Toronto.
