In January 2011, the Solent Fellowship Band announced that Chris Kennett has retired from the position of Bandmaster with immediate effect. Kennett departs after having led the band for four years. In due course, the band will pay tribute to him for his outstanding work.

Deputy Bandmaster David Samuels has agreed to carry out the duties of conducting the Fellowship Band for the immediate future.
