Regarded as one of the most technical and professional Salvation Army bands in the world, this visit will provide the public with three opportunities to enjoy their special musical ministry in Belfast (Carnmoney Presbyterian Church on 28th May, tickets £10), Dublin (Round Room on 31st May, tickets €15) and Londonderry (The Guildhall on 1st June, tickets priced £8).

The New York Staff Band has been serving continuously for over a century, and from relatively humble musical beginnings, has risen to international stature and now features in over 60 musical recordings. Its repertoire is both broad in scope and innovative, from classical transcripts to jazz, and the band has premiered works penned by renowned composers such as Eric Ball, Erik Leidzén, James Curnow, Emil Söderstrom, Peter Graham and Ray Steadman-Allen.

The band has toured extensively throughout the world, performing in venues such as New York Carnegie Hall, Buckingham Palace and the Sydney Opera House, and has shared the concert platform with among others, the New York Philharmonic, Sir Elton John, Joseph Alessi and Harvey Phillips.

The visit to Ireland precedes the largest gathering of Salvation Army Staff Bands in London at an International Brass Weekend celebrating the 120th anniversary of the London based International Staff Band of The Salvation Army.

The New York Staff Band will join staff bands from Amsterdam, Canada, Chicago, Germany, Japan and Melbourne at The Royal Albert Hall in London for an unforgettable musical experience which is already sold out.
