Govan Mourns Veteran Bandsman

Govan Citadel Band (Scotland) are deeply saddened by the recent death, or in Salvation Army terms, Promotion to Glory, of retired bandsman and Deputy Bandmaster Malcolm Cassidy. Cassidy was a member of the band for over fifty years, and played a number of instruments within the group, most notably G trombone, complete with slide handle! He also arranged a number of items for the band and traveled extensively both within the United Kingdom and overseas.

Cassidy had suffered from ill health for some time, but maintained his dry wit and continued to support and encourage the Govan Citadel Band. The band thinks of his wife Anza, son Ken and daughter Carol. He will be missed.
