Fáilte is the Irish word for “welcome”. This music was commissioned by Bandmaster John Moore of Belfast Citadel, and was written to commemorate the commencement of the Salvation Army’s work in Ireland. It features the tune “To the Eden Above”, which is purported to be the first songs performed by a Salvation Army delegation in the Emerald Isle. The other hymn presented is “King of Kings, Majesty”, which has been a significant song in the life of Belfast Citadel in the more recent past. Fáilte Salvation Army was given its premiere at the Belfast Temple Music School Finale in August 2015.
Scored for 5–8 brass and 1–2 percussion (Salvation Army Unity Series)
