On the weekend of 16 – 18 November 2018, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) traveled to the Massachusetts Division for a ministry weekend that included stops in Worcester, Canton, Boston, and Brockton. Massachusetts Divisional Music Director (DMD) Matthew Luhn and his team organized the events of the weekend.

NYSB Launches New Signature and Heritage Series
The New York Staff Band and the USA Eastern Territory Music Department have launched two new music series, the Signature Series and the Heritage Series. The Signature Series replaces the Music Department’s current Triumphonic Collection. It will feature three new pieces each year. The Heritage Series will consist of reprints of popular pieces from the American Band Journal that are out of print. It will feature one piece per year.
Staff Band Weekend in San Juan
The New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) arrived in Puerto Rico in the early hours of Friday, 17 February 2017, for a weekend of ministry. The weekend included an outdoor concert in Old San Juan shared with the Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Youth Band, working with young musicians at the Guayama Kroc Center, and Sunday morning worship at San Juan Central Corps.
NYSB Weekend in Pennsylvania
On the weekend of 18 – 20 November 2016, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) found itself on the road once again, this time traveling to various parts of Pennsylvania. The weekend comprised a Friday evening concert in Wellsboro and Saturday and Sunday events in Williamsport, including a joint concert with Billtown Brass Band (Director Richard Coulter).
Staff Band Begins Season in Ohio
The New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) visited the NEOSA (North East Ohio Salvation Army) Division on the weekend of 14 – 16 October 2016, their first ministry weekend of the season and also the first under their new bandmaster, Derek Lance. Engagements were held in Akron, Mansfield, and the Cleveland area.
VanderWeele Featured on New Disc
The fifth disc in the Soloist Series from the USA Eastern Territory is the first to feature a brass instrumentalist, Aaron VanderWeele, principal euphonium of the New York Staff Band.
New England Visit by New York Staff Band
Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris and the New York Staff Band traveled north to Fall River, Massachusetts on the weekend of 30 – 31 October 2004.
VanderWeele Featured at Pre-Contest Festival
Since 1946, the opening event of the National Brass Band Championship weekend in Great Britain has been a pre-contest festival hosted by the Enfield Citadel Band.
Montclair Citadel Hosts Band Councils
The Montclair Citadel Corps, Montclair, New Jersey, was the venue for a Band Councils held on 9 October 2004. The councils were the centerpiece of a weekend featuring the Norridge Citadel Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Peggy Thomas.
