Enfield Remembrance

Enfield Citadel Band was busy over the Remembrance weekend, some of its members more so than others. Songster Leader Andrew Lofthouse participated in the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall as part of his duty with the Central Band of the Royal Air Force. Young People’s Band Leader Simon Hicks was involved in the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph in London with the band of the Coldstream Guards.

Enfield Citadel Band at Long Melford

Enfield Citadel Band opened their 2016/2017 season on 1 October 2016 with a concert in the beautiful setting of Holy Trinity Church, Long Melford. The band was under the guest leadership of Bandmaster Iain Parkhouse of the Croydon Citadel Band. The band was also pleased to have Derick Kane sitting in because of the absence of their usual principal euphonium.

Enfield at Brighton Congress Hall

On Saturday, 27 September 2014, Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Jonathan Corry) visited Brighton Congress Hall for a concert whihc featured several well-loved items from Salvation Army brass band literature, including works by Leslie Condon, Morley Calvert, Eric Ball and Dean Goffin.

“Into Africa” Raises Thousands for Kenya Trust

The annual “Into Africa” concert, benefiting the Kenya Trust, was held at Staines on 14 June 2014. This year’s concert featured 14-year-old Isobel Daws (trombone) as guest soloist, with the Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Jonathan Corry) and Staines Songsters (Leader Samantha Turner).

This new recording by Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Jonathan Corry) includes a DVD of the 1909 black and white silent movie The Salvation Army Lass, with added soundtrack composed by Dorothy Gates and played by Enfield Citadel Band.

NYSB Massachusetts Ministry Weekend

On the weekend of 16 – 18 November 2018, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) traveled to the Massachusetts Division for a ministry weekend that included stops in Worcester, Canton, Boston, and Brockton. Brass for GOSH Launched

The London Central Fellowship Band (Bandmaster David Rudd) launched their latest recording with a concert at Regent Hall on 17 November 2018. Just under 300 people were in attendance for a fantastic night of music-making, raising funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity. All of the profits realized by Citadel Promotions, the producers, will benefit the hospital charity, leading to the title of the recording, Brass for GOSH. Read more
