The monthly magazine for Salvation Army brass musicians and bands, SA Bandsman, has been relaunched under the new title SA Band World, and will be published by the publisher of Brass Band World, Kapitol Media Ltd., for its owner, Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd. (SATCoL). Andrew Blyth has been named Editor of the renamed publication.

Enfield Pre-Contest Festival Features Fountain and Cordner
Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Don Jenkins) returned to St. John’s, Smith Square, for this year’s Pre-Contest Festival. The concert featured James Fountain (cornet/trumpet) as guest soloist and Major Martin Cordner as compère, guest conductor, and featured composer.
British Bandsman Announces Wainwright as Editor
Andrew Wainwright has been announced as the new Editor of British Bandsman. The magazine, founded in 1887, was acquired in August 2018 by International Brass Band Media (IBB) Ltd. In addition, it was announced that the magazine will return to its roots as a weekly publication in a modern digital-only format -beginning in October 2018.
Corry to Chicago
The Enfield Citadel Band announced on 6 September 2016 that its Bandmaster, Dr. Jonathan Corry, has relinquished his leadership of the band and will be taking up an appointment as Director of Music and Gospel Arts for the Chicago Metropolitan Division in the USA Central Territory. No successor was immediately named for the conductor’s post at Enfield.

Kettering New Year Festival
The New Year Festival presented by the Kettering Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Phillips) has for some years now been a fixture in the Salvation Army banding calendar. This year’s edition was presented on 4 February 2012.
