At the beginning of the 2016-2017 season, the New York Staff Band welcomes a new Bandmaster for the first time in nearly a quarter-century as Ronald Waiksnoris retires and Derek Lance takes up the baton. A number of player changes have also occurred as the season begins.

Corry to Chicago
The Enfield Citadel Band announced on 6 September 2016 that its Bandmaster, Dr. Jonathan Corry, has relinquished his leadership of the band and will be taking up an appointment as Director of Music and Gospel Arts for the Chicago Metropolitan Division in the USA Central Territory. No successor was immediately named for the conductor’s post at Enfield.
