Saturday, 22 October 2016, marked the arrival of Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Howard J. Evans) at Norwich Citadel for the 134th anniversary celebration weekend of Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Woodrow). This was a return visit, as the Norwich band had enjoyed a weekend in Bournemouth the previous year.
On 2 October 2015, Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans) and Winton Songsters (Songster Leader David Ramsay) joined for a festival, entitled “Vision of Hope”, in support of the Salvation Army work in Ukraine. The guest soloist for the evening was cornetist Alex Ramsay of Bellshill Corps.
The Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans) held its annual open rehearsal and reservists night on Thursday, 7 March 2013. As always, this event was well-attended and gave the members of the Band Reserve and other friends of the band an opportunity to hear music old and new.
On Sunday, 24 February 2013, the Boscombe Corps held A Musical Feast for Lent, taking the congregation on a journey of Scripture readings, songs and items from the Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans).
The Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans) held its first concert of the year on 15 February 2013, in conjunction with the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir (Musical Director Mark Burstow). The concert was organized by Pokesdown Corps as a fundraiser for The Big Collection.
The morning of Sunday, 11 November 2012 was crisp and bright as once again the Boscombe Band of the Salvation Army (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans) led the parade of veterans to the cenotaph for the Remembrance Day service.
The Boscombe Band (Bandmaster Dr. Howard J. Evans) traveled to the island of Portland to play a concert at Underhill Methodist Church on Saturday, 29 September 2012.
For many years the Easter weekend at Boscombe has been a special time. This year, with special guests Staines Songsters and the leadership of Majors Paul and Jenine Main, proved to be a fitting continuation of a fine tradition.
