For the fifteenth successive year, the Gloucester Salvation Army Band (Bandmaster Clifford Matthews) played a leading role in the Meningitis Trust’s annual Christmas Concert at Gloucester Cathedral.
The Band and Songsters from the Gloucester Corps (Bandmaster Clifford Matthews and Songster Leader Phil Webb) were once again pleased to be able to share the message of Christmas during their annual Carol Concert at Christchurch, Abbeydale, on 14 December 2010.
The classical-based Charity Concert in aid of Hope for Tomorrow, held at the Salvation Army hall in Gloucester on 3 October 2010, was something those who gathered will not soon forget.
The Gloucester Corps had its annual Band Weekend on 1 – 2 April 2006, with the Kettering Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Phillips) as special guests for a concert on Saturday evening.
Many Salvation Army musical groups are at their busiest during the Christmas season. On 17 December 2005, detachments from the Gloucester Band (Bandmaster Clifford Matthews) participated in two special events.
The Salvation Army Gloucester Corps had a busy weekend of Christmas celebrations 2 – 4 December 2005, with concerts for charities and a performance at the Westonbirt Arboretum.
The Gloucester Band (Bandmaster Clifford Matthews) performed numerous times during the Christmas season. Two noteworthy events this year included a concert at the Redmarley Church and an annual concert for the benefit of the Meningitis Trust.
