SLFB Long Weekend in Blackpool and Carlisle
On the long weekend of 28 – 30 September 2018, the South London Fellowship Band (Conductor Darrell Scholes) visited the northwest of England, with events in Blackpool and Carlisle. Despite challenges with travel and accommodations, the trip was ultimately successful and satisfying, with two concerts and Sunday morning worship during the trip.
Fellowship Band Supports South London Celebration
On Saturday, 15 September 2018, the South London Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Darrell Scholes) was at William Booth College in support of the South London Division’s Celebration weekend. The day included an outdoor concert and support of the afternoon Celebration meeting.
Whittingham Birthday Concert
Many well-known faces from the Salvation Army brass band world, plus some others, gathered at Bromley Corps on 29 August 2017, forming a band to celebrate the 91st birthday of Major George Whittingham.
Eastbourne Ministry Weekend
A warm and balmy welcome greeted the South London Fellowship Band (Musical Director Darrell Scholes) as they visited the Sunshine Coast and Eastbourne Corps on the weekend of 15 – 16 July 2017. This was a return visit for the band, the last journey to Eastbourne being four years earlier, almost to the day. The weekend included a Saturday night festival, morning and afternoon worship at Eastbourne Corps, and an open-air concert at the seaside.
Windsor Castle Bandstand Concerts
The South London Fellowship Band (Musical Director Darrell Scholes) was privileged to be invited to perform two on-hour concerts in the Windsor Castle bandstand in July 2017.
23rd Annual Concert in West Wickham
The South London Fellowship Band (Musical Director Darrell Scholes) commenced its 23rd annual visit to Emmanuel United Reform Church, West Wickham on 17 March 2017 with My God and King, Paul Sharman’s prelude on the hymn tune “Luckington”, originally composed for the International Staff Band’s 120th anniversary celebration. This was one of several “first performances” for the Fellowship Band that evening.

On 17 September 2016, the South London Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Darrell Scholes) and the London Central Fellowship Band (Bandmaster David Rudd) joined for a concert at Croydon Citadel.
Fellowship Band Concludes Season at Horsham
Saturday, 3 October 2015 was the date of the last concert of a very busy season for the South London Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Darrell Scholes). The setting was the Salvation Army hall in Horsham, which, although small, gave ample opportunity for the Fellowship Band to display its versatility and control in style and substance.
