On 22 October 2016, the night after a successful concert at Hayling Island, the Solent Fellowship Band held a dinner in celebration of the band’s 20th anniversary. Some 56 or so current and former members, with their partners, sat down in lovely surroundings at the Southampton Sholing Corps.
On Friday, 27 February 2015, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) presented a charity concert on behalf of the Rainbow Centre at the Holy Trinity Church, Fareham. The band was honored that Nigel Atkinson Esq., Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Hampshire, together with his wife, Christine, were in attendance.
On Friday, 26 September 2014, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) and the One Achord Choir (Director Chris Warren) presented a charity concert at Chandler’s Ford Methodist Church. The concert raised nearly £600 toward the Community Outreach program of the church.
On Friday, 13 June 2014, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) presented a charity concert at the Holy Trinity Church, Fareham. The concert was in aid of the “High Time” project at the church, which aims to restore the iconic landmark clock and tower.
The Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) was joined by guest oboe soloist Divisional Bandmaster Stephen Smith for a concert in Trowbridge on 14 April 2014.
On Friday, 21 March 2014, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) presented a charity concert which, including donations received, raised £8,600 for a locally-based organization, the Second Chance Charity.
On Friday, 21 February 2014, the Solent Fellowship Band (Bandmaster John Bird) presented a concert at Southampton Sholing Corps. The concert also featured Songster Leader Tracey Jones as vocal soloist.
