Enfield Citadel Band (Bandmaster Don Jenkins) returned to St. John’s, Smith Square, for this year’s Pre-Contest Festival. The concert featured James Fountain (cornet/trumpet) as guest soloist and Major Martin Cordner as compère, guest conductor, and featured composer.
Following their Pre-Contest Festival the previous Friday evening, Enfield Citadel Band were back at Enfield Citadel on Sunday, 9 October 2016 for the traditional Band Sunday. The meeting was lead by Enfield Citadel commanding officer Major Andrew Gaudion, with the theme “Thanking God for Music”.
The Enfield Citadel Band announced on 6 September 2016 that its Bandmaster, Dr. Jonathan Corry, has relinquished his leadership of the band and will be taking up an appointment as Director of Music and Gospel Arts for the Chicago Metropolitan Division in the USA Central Territory. No successor was immediately named for the conductor’s post at Enfield.
In addition to the appointment of new Bandmaster Julian Bright, the London Central Fellowship Band has had several changes over the past twelve months.
The Amsterdam Staff Band (Bandmaster Olaf Ritman) celebrated its jubilee with a gala concert on 23 March 2013, with special guest Kenneth Downie.
