Friday, 17 March 2017, brought together 66 enthusiastic brass and percussion players, 30 members of the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance), two incredible guests, two support staff, and three pastoral officers gathered at Star Lake Lodge in Bloomingale, New Jersey, for the 2017 Future All-Stars weekend. This year’s special guests were James and Thomas Fountain, two young cornet/trumpet soloists with British brass band and Salvation Army background.

NYSB Conductor and Personnel Changes
At the beginning of the 2016-2017 season, the New York Staff Band welcomes a new Bandmaster for the first time in nearly a quarter-century as Ronald Waiksnoris retires and Derek Lance takes up the baton. A number of player changes have also occurred as the season begins.
“Fighting for the Lord” Recording Sessions
At the end of February 2015, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris) completed a recording which will be used for their 2015 tour of the United Kingdom and the Boundless Congress, entitled Fighting for the Lord.
NYSB Featured at Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival
As their first offical engagement of 2015, on 21 February 2015, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris) ventured to southern New Jersey fo the annual Mid-Atlantic Brass Band Festival. The Staff Band was featured as the special guest band for the event, held on the campus of Rowan University in Glassboro.
NYSB Weekend in Western Pennsylvania
On the weekend of 17 – 19 October 2014, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris) was privileged to visit the Western Pennsylvania Division. The ministry trip consisted of concerts in Oil City and Sewickley, a music clinic and Sunday worship.
Staff Band Visits Schenectady
On the weekend of 16 – 17 November 2013, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Ronald Waiksnoris) had the privilege of ministering in the city of Schenectady, New York. The weekend included a public concert at a mall, a Saturday evening festival and Sunday morning worship with the combined congregations of the Schenectady Citadel Corps and the First Presbyterian Church.
New York Staff Band Pressing Onward

The Greater New York Division of the Salvation Army invited the resident composer of the Black Dyke Band, Paul Lovatt-Cooper, to be featured in the 33rd annual Profile Night concert.
