The Greater New York Division of the Salvation Army invited the resident composer of the Black Dyke Band, Paul Lovatt-Cooper, to be featured in the 33rd annual Profile Night concert.
The National Capital Band (Bandmaster James B. Anderson) visited the Blue Ridge area of Virginia on the weekend of 21 – 23 April 2006.
On Friday, 17 March, the National Capital Band (Bandmaster James B. Anderson) set off on their first ministry weekend of 2006. Journeying south to the city of Williamsburg, Virginia, the band participated in the local Salvation Army’s Annual Meeting on Friday evening, performed three outdoor concerts on Saturday, and played for two Sunday morning services at the New Town Methodist Church.
The 17th annual Great American Brass Band Festival was held in Danville, Kentucky 10 – 12 June 2005. The festival, held primarily on the campus of Centre College, is hosted by the Advocate Brass Band, based in Danville.
On the first weekend of April 2005, the National Capital Band (Bandmaster James Anderson) visited the central Virginia town of Lynchburg to help the local Salvation Army corps celebrate its centenary.
The National Capital Band, based in Washington, DC, spent the last weekend of February in the Greater New York Division, with performances at the Centennial Memorial Temple, Templo de Queens, and Hempstead Citadel.
The National Capital Band (Bandmaster James B. Anderson) hosted its fourth annual Community Carol Concert on 5 December 2004. In addition to the band, this year’s event featured The Swansonettes (Director Elizabeth Gephardt), the DC Metro Timbrel Brigade (directed by Elsie Morris), and junior vocalist Francisca Idio from the Fairfax Corps.
The National Capital Band, under the direction of Bandmaster James B. Anderson, journeyed down Interstate 95 to Richmond, the capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia, on 6 November 2004, for a weekend engagement.
The Bellshill Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Ian Dickie, journeyed by ferry across the North Channel on 9 October 2004 for a weekend visit to Belfast Citadel.
The Arlington Citadel Corps and the National Capital Band welcomed Lt.-Colonel Norman Bearcroft and his wife, Major Kathleen Bearcroft, for a musical weekend on 8 – 9 May 2004.
