The International Staff Band (Bandmaster Dr. Stephen Cobb) thrilled, inspired and challenged their audiences during a campaign at the William Booth Memorial Halls in Nottingham on the weekend of 3 – 4 November 2013.
Maidstone Corps held its Annual Summer Spectacular at the Friars in Aylesford on 16 June 2012. The Maidstone Band (Bandmaster Kevin Ashman) was joined by the Regent Hall Songsters this year, treating the audience to an interesting and balanced program.
The “Last Night of the Proms” evening at Maidstone Corps, held on 10 March 2012, filled the hall to near capacity. The evening was led by Maidstone Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Kevin Ashman. The guest vocal soloist for the evening was Susanne Dymott.
The second away weekend of the year for the International Staff Band (Bandmaster Stephen Cobb) was to the Rock Ferry Corps on 25 – 26 February 2012. The last time that the ISB visited this corps was in 1991.
This year, Black Dyke celebrates its 150th anniversary, and the ISB was invited to participate in the celebrations with a joint concert in York Minster, held on Saturday, 1 October 2005. Taking advantage of the paid travel, the ISB completed the weekend by participating in Sunday worship at Clowne.
Wednesday, 11 May 2005, saw the members of the International Staff Band (Bandmaster Stephen Cobb) make their way to the Salvation Army hall in Chatham for a festival concert.
As a part of the Portsmouth Citadel Band’s year-long celebration of its 125th anniversary, the International Staff Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Stephen Cobb, visited the city on the weekend of 23 – 24 April 2005.
The International Staff Band (Bandmaster Stephen Cobb) visited Bristol on the weekend of 27 – 28 November 2004, their third weekend campaign of the current season.
The Coventry Methodist Central Hall was the venue for the second International Staff Band festival of the fall season, beginning a series of performances in Coventry on the weekend of 30 – 31 October, 2004.
In 1906, an official Board of Enquiry certified that the band at Consett had the honor of being the first Salvation Army Corps Band, with its beginning in 1879. Since the 50th in 1929, major anniversaries of the band’s founding have been occasions for a visit from the International Staff Band.
