Pre-Contest Concert at British Open

On 9 September 2017, Symphony Hall in Birmingham was packed with brass band enthusiasts for the annual British Open contest. As has become tradition, the Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) presented a pre-contest concert in the foyer of the hall.

Spring Music Weekend in Bellshill

The Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) visited Scotland for a ministry weekend in Bellshill, 18 – 19 April 2015. The weekend consisted of a festival concert on Saturday evening and a worship service and afternoon concert on Sunday.

Recording Sessions for Birmingham Citadel

The Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) had three recording sessions in two days, 10 – 11 October 2014, for a new recording with is due out in December 2014. This recording is a mix of old and new, as the band recorded established classic repertoire from Dean Goffin and Bramwell Coles alongside new music from the pens of Paul Sharman and Martin Cordner.

Concert in Luton

The Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) made the trip to Luton for the first time on 20 September 2014. The band was there to play a concert in the modern suite of buildings at the Luton Corps of the Salvation Army.

Birmingham Citadel Band at the British Open

The Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) was delighted to be back at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, for the British Open band contest on 6 September 2014. The band, as in previous years, provided a one-hour concert in the concourse as thousands gathered for this special day in the banding calendar.

Ministry Weekend in Greater Manchester

Their first “away weekend” of 2014, 1 – 2 March, saw the Birmingham Citadel Band (Bandmaster Gavin Lamplough) visit two towns in Greater Manchester. On Saturday evening, the band was delighted to be back in the beautiful hall at Sale and on Sunday the band made the short trip to Stockport.

On the weekend of 16 – 18 November 2018, the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) traveled to the Massachusetts Division for a ministry weekend that included stops in Worcester, Canton, Boston, and Brockton. Brass for GOSH Launched

The London Central Fellowship Band (Bandmaster David Rudd) launched their latest recording with a concert at Regent Hall on 17 November 2018. Just under 300 people were in attendance for a fantastic night of music-making, raising funds for the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity. All of the profits realized by Citadel Promotions, the producers, will benefit the hospital charity, leading to the title of the recording, Brass for GOSH. Read more
