On the weekend of 1 – 2 April 2017, the Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster John Lam) had the opportunity to fellowship and minister with two different yet similar congregations in Pickering, Ontario. At both St. Paul’s on-the-hill Anglican Church and the Salvation Army Hope Community Church, the Staff Band experienced a warm reception from wonderful people.

Canadian Staff Band at Blazing Brass Weekend
The Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster John Lam) visited Mountain Citadel in Hamilton, Ontario, on the weekend of 7 – 8 February 2015. The weekend included the 2015 installment of the annual Blazing Brass concert series, a music festival on Saturday evening, and Sunday morning worship.
Empress of Ireland 100th Anniversary
The Canadian Staff Band, both in full and in ensemble, participated in numerous observances of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Empress of Ireland. This disaster, the worst maritime accident in the history of Canada, claimed 1,012 lives, of which 167 were Salvationists traveling to an international congress in London, England.
London Citadel Band and Timbrels in Concert
The London Citadel Band (Bandmaster John Lam) and the London Citadel Timbrels gave a concert at Wolf Performance Hall in London, Ontario, on 9 May 2014.
Bermuda Band Featured at Fort Frances Centennial
The West End Corps (West End Community Church) Band (Bandmaster Jerome Astwood) made the long journey from Bermuda to northwestern Ontario to perform at the 100th anniversary celebrations at Fort Frances Corps 3 – 8 April 2014. During the visit, the band played several engagements, including a march through town and multiple concerts, and supported Sunday worship.
Celebrating 130 Years in Orillia
On Sunday, 2 February 2014, the Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster John Lam) visited Orillia Citadel as a part of the Citadel’s 130th anniversary weekend.
Staff Band Joins with Orchestra for Canadian Portraits
For their first engagement of 2014, the Canadian Staff Band (Bandmaster John Lam) joined with the Winds of the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra (Musical Director Ronald Royer) for “Canadian Portraits”, a concert celebrating Canada and featuring the music of Howard Cable.
