Steadily Forward March! in Alexandria
On Sunday afternoon, 2 October 2016, the National Capital Area Command (NCAC) held a Soldier’s Rally at the Alexandria Citadel Corps. A wide variety of music and creative arts groups from around the area were featured, anchored by the National Capital Band (Bandmaster Dr. Steve Kellner). The theme of the rally was “Steadily Forward March!”, with the program being divided into sections focusing on the past, present, and future of the Salvation Army.
Davis Leads Sheffield Citadel 135th Celebration
Lt.-Colonel Trevor Davis was the special guest leading the Sheffield Citadel Band’s 135th Anniversary Reunion Weekend, with a Saturday evening festival and Sunday morning worship.
NYSB Supports Welcome of Cadets
Friday, 9 September 2016 marked the beginning of a new season for the New York Staff Band (Bandmaster Derek Lance) as it helped welcome the newest session of cadets to the College for Officer Training.
1966 and All That
On 16 July 2016, Norwich Citadel Band (Bandmaster Richard Woodrow) took part in “1966 and all that”, a special occasion marking 50 years since the band performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Joining Norwich Citadel for the celebratory concert were Diss Band (Bandmaster Iain Sturgeon) and Norfolk Fellowship Brass (Bandmaster David Woodrow).
National Capital Band Retreat and Personnel Changes
The National Capital Band (Bandmaster Dr. Steve Kellner) began their 2016 – 2017 season in their traditional fashion, with a spiritual and musical retreat held at Camp Happyland in Central Virginia.
Heritage Brass Annual Dinner and Concert 2016
Heritage Brass (Bandmaster Bob Gray) held their annual end of season dinner and program at the Jackson’s Point/Georgina complex. The dinner was held at the Conference Centre and the evening concert in the Georgina Corps hall.
Band Reunion at Belfast Temple
On 4 June 2016, the Belfast Temple Band (Bandmaster Jack Burch) held a reunion dinner, with just under 80 former and current members and spouses. In addition to the dinner, current and former players joined in a massed band to play several items.
Future All-Stars 12th Edition
For the twelfth year, young people from the USA Eastern Territory and beyond joined with the New York Staff Band for a weekend of music and ministry. Special musical guests this year were the Academy Brass Quintet from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
