An excellent evening was held at Ipswich Citadel on 12 February 2010 as a fund raiser for the Betesda Charity, featuring the Anglia Fellowship Band (Bandmaster Ray Todd).
Betesda Charity, some 19 years ago, undertook to run a number of homes in Romania to care for the elderly, as the state there did not provide adequate facilities. Because of an earth tremor in 2009, one of these properties had to be re-plastered at a cost of £3,600. The concert raised a sum of £1,700 to help support this work.
Guests soloists for this occasion were David Winch, tenor horn, Norwich Citadel and International Staff Band, and Bram Bryant, vocalist, Norwich Citadel. The compère for the evening was Matthew Peek, who added his usual wit to the proceedings.
Band items included The Wellingtonian followed by Ave Maria. The band also contributed Sunbeam, a request from an earlier concert. Other items included Viva Scotland, the trombone feature Peter, James and John, On the Road, Hine e Hine, Two Patriotic Airs, Golden Jubilee and St. Teresa.
David Winch played Over the Rainbow and You Love Me. Bram Bryant sang This Is the Moment and Spirituals.
