Tune of the Week returns with a selection from the Two-Part Hymn Series Christmas Collection. This is a traditional English carol, with many versions dating back to at least the 1600s. The words most often associated with the tune begin with “On Christmas Night all Christians sing”. This arrangement is based on the most common modern version, collected by Ralph Vaughan Williams and used in his Fantasia on Christmas Carols published in 1912.

A part of the Two-Part Hymn Series, this collection contains 50 Christmas carols and songs, in simple two-part arrangements, published as PDF files. It’s free to use and copy provided that the copyright notice at the bottom of the page is included.
